This unusual project has seen me working as mixing engineer and assistant sound designer. The very short movie has been by the young director Anton Kudryashov Jr. as submission to enter the American University of Southern California. The film was very successful, and it could not have been otherwise. The peculiarity of this film mainly resides on the fact that the viewer cannot see anyone's face. This means that audio-wise, some elements will need to be more emphasized since no expressions are shown, as well as the sound design and foley will need to be very carefully crafted, since the viewer is more likely to concentrate on the actor's movements and gestures. From an audio perspective, other challenges included recreating an "under the table" effect, without making the sounds too muffled. I had to recreate a division between the "under the table" sounds and the "above the table sounds", still manipulating the audio so that they felt like they belong to the same space. It has been a pleasure working on it.
